Rachel McDonald and Roxanne Hewitt first came to the Allegany Business Center in February of 2007.  They were looking for a loan to renovate a rental property.  After receiving technical assistance they secured financing in the amount of $3,000 from ACDSI.  They were able to make the necessary repairs to their property that offers housing to low-income families.

They then returned to the Business Center in July of 2007 for a loan for their primary business, Roxanne’s Bridal Paradise.  The business, opened in 1984, serves the southern tier of New York and northwestern Pennsylvania.   Roxanne’s is a full-service bridal salon, offering a full-line of formal apparel for men and women, along accessories and alterations.  The loan of $15,000 was used to expand their inventory and provided needed working capital. 

Rachel and Roxanne have said both the technical assistance and financing they’ve received have helped them “stay ahead of the game,” by allowing them to keep their inventory current in an ever-changing industry.  They plan on hiring additional employees in the spring in time for the busy prom season and start of the wedding season.
