Marika Burke returned with her family to Allegany County from Michigan. She is a stay-at-home mom who has over 10 years of experience in photography. She approached the business center in 2005, and attended the EAP training. She diligently worked on her business plan which she completed; along with applying for and receiving an ACDSI loan. She has developed a website and a very comprehensive marketing and advertising plan which includes flyers, brochures, photo business cards and ads in local newspapers and magazines. She has also joined the local chamber and has become an active member. When asked how her businesses has benefited from the program, Marika enthusiastically replied, "I could not have gotten my feet on ground, ready to run with this business without Accord's EAP class. It gave me the background needed to help me get my business started and great information along the way to help me become a success story. I am very thankful for the course and the loan program. Without it I would still be struggling to keep ahead of the bills. Thanks a million!" |
