In June of 2007, Sharon Tyrell came to the Allegany Business Center for assistance with her idea of opening a consignment shop. Working with the Business Counselors, she learned the nuts and bolts of opening and running a successful business. Clutterbugs Consignment shop opened its doors in August 2007 in the college town of Alfred. In addition to the technical assistance she has received, Sharon has attended various Business Center Trainings, such as eBay University, website development, and business loan workshops. In July of 2009, Clutterbugs moved to a new location at 80 South Main Street in Wellsville NY, which has tripled their square footage, and will allow Sharon to add new consignors. Clutterbugs currently has over 285 consignors, and has a presence on eBay. A grand opening for the new location is slated for August 15th. Sharon cites the support offered by the Business Center, “It’s comforting to know that the resource is there, I don’t feel like I’m going it alone!” she says. |
